New in 2012… Feed your mind

We have two new series coming up this winter.  The first is a Wednesday luncheon series we are calling Food For Thought.  We have interesting and thought provoking speakers to discuss vital topics of our day while you enjoy a lunch plate, coffee and a light dessert.  Food for Thought luncheon details.

Our second series this winter is a mini Wine School we are calling Wine Scholar Sessions.  We will use as our guide the book by Jancis Robinson called How to Taste.  Ms Robinson is a Brit, a Master of Wine, a respected wine judge  and lecturer.  We will develop our wine palates one grape at a time, and concentrate on two great varietal wines each session.  You will have an opportunity to buy Ms. Robinson’s book, although the book is not necessary to enjoy the session.  You will also receive handouts to take home that will cover the main information on these grapes and wines. Wine Scholar Event details.

Gift giving ideas from Nokomis

The blue sky rivals the sparkly blue water, and the dusting of white snow makes a beautiful start to December. This month is one of celebration, whether your tradition includes Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or the Winter Solstice heralding the coming of the light. We invite you to have at least some of your celebrations at Nokomis, or over a glass of Nokomis wine. We also invite you to shop for your friends and loved ones in our Gift Center.

Nokomis Chef and co-owner Sean Lewis creates menu selections which range from the classics to new cuisine.

Menus change often to capture the best of what is seasonal, fresh and (often) local. Nokomis takes pride in preparing and presenting food that pleases both eye and palate.

The dining room and bar provide panoramic views of Lake Superior and our fireplace makes for cosy dining. For business, for pleasure, for classic dining with a twist make Nokomis your first choice for casual or special occasion dining.

Our guests have arrived by kayak, canoe, rollerblade, bicycle, motorcycle, motorhome, car and pickup truck. Whether you are dressed for the north woods or for business, you are welcome to enjoy great food and great service at Nokomis. Come as you are!
